What prompted a Chemistry graduate and an English teacher like me to start learning Sanskrit from the basics? It was an irrepressible yearning to understand our ancient texts first-hand. Even after getting to an M.Phil. in Sanskrit, the journey has just begun. Married into a Jain family has introduced me to the whole new world of Jainism - a religion I am learning more about each day.
