Boori Boot Festival Arunachal Pradesh

Boori Boot is a festival inextricably linked to the divine forces of nature and the agricultural cycle. It is celebrated by the Nyishi tribe in Arunachal Pradesh in early February and welcomes the onset of spring.

The Nyishis celebrate the harvest and spring with a melange of folk dances and local competitions in sports like archery. They also invoke the spirit of Boori Boot Yullo to bring prosperity and happiness, to eradicate diseases and to prevent natural calamities.
