When is Durga Puja celebrated?

Durga Puja ( दुर्गा पूजा) is celebrated during Shardiya Navrati from Shashthi (sixth day) to Dashami (tenth day) of the Devi Paksha (the fortnight begins on the next day of Mahalaya Amavasya and ends on Kojagari Lokhi Puja) of the Ashwina month (September-October) as per the Hindu Calendar. The festival began in Bengal and the Durga Puja of Kolkata is a part of the UNESCO Intangible World Heritage List.

We have put together some of the most important Sanskrit mantras used to invoke the great Goddess Durga and seek her blessings. Please use them to greet your friends and family during this beautiful and culturally rich festival.
