The world is running out of water… Our land is parched and dry…
India is no different. In a country that worships water, we are today in the midst of a crisis where crores do not have access to potable water. Our cities are struggling to meet the basic needs of their citizens. Out farmers are committing suicide.
This is a crisis that will not resolve itself. It is imperative that resolve to make simple changes in our daily lives to save every drop of water.
Some changes that you and I can make immediately to Save Water are given below… Of course, you can add to the list…
- Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth, while shaving, while washing your hands and while performing numerous other daily chores.
- Turn off the shower while soaping up. Take shorter showers.
- Fix leaking faucets and pipes immediately. Use aerators in taps and economical flush systems.
- Do not throw water. Reuse it. Think half-filled bottles and vessels and water that is discarded from RO water purifiers among others.
- Clean your car and floors with a bucket instead of a running hose.
- Use the washing machine only when you have a full load of laundry to be done.
Water is wealth personified. Reduce water consumption. Save every drop before there no drops left…
Don’t forget … Water is life…
World Water Day is celebrated on March 22 every year to urge global citizens to rally together and urgently find solutions to crises pertaining to water and sanitation.
Flush system should have two press buttons, one smaller size for urination flushing small amount of water and a comparatively larger press for the loo. This will save huge amount of water.
