Kabir Das says that both the Guru and Govind (the Supreme) are standing in front of me. Who deserves my salutations first? He concludes that it is undoubtedly the Guru since she/he is the one who introduced him to Govind.
The teacher or guru has a unique place in Indian culture and tradition. Guru Purnima and Teacher’s Day are just two of the days when we express the immense gratitude that we have for our teachers.
