Who deserves my salutations first – the Guru or Govind (the Supreme Being)? It is undoubtedly the Guru – she/he is the one who introduced me to Govind. Without her/him, how would I have met Govind?
The teacher or guru has a unique place in Indian culture and tradition. Guru Purnima and Teacher’s Day are just two of the days when we express the immense gratitude that we have for our teachers.
