Guru Ram Das Sahibji was the fourth Guru in the Sikh tradition. He is credited with founding the holy city of Amritsar (earlier known as Ramdaspur or रामदासपुर). He was an accomplished poet and 638 of his hymns form a part of the Guru Granth Sahibji or Adi Granth. He chose his youngest son – Guru Arjan Devji to succeed him.
