Guru Tegh Bahadur was the Ninth Guru in the Sikh tradition. He established the town of Anandpur (Haven of Bliss) and made the supreme sacrifice to protect the Hindus. He faced execution at the hand of the Mughal empire and instead of converting to Islam chose to became a martyr.
Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahibji is generally referred to as ‘Hind ki Chaddar’ and will remain immortal in the history of India. The ‘Sis Ganj Gurudwara’ at New Delhi is an eternal reminder of his ‘shaheedi’.
He was succeeded by his son as the tenth guru – Guru Gobind Singh.
