Akshaya Tritiya (अक्षय तृतीया) or Akha Teej (अखा तीज) is celebrated by Hindus and Jains on the third day (tritiya or teej) of the bright fortnight of the month of Vaisakha (वैसाख – April-May). It is considered to be one of the three most auspicious days in the Hindu calendar when one can make new beginnings in any area of human endeavour – spiritual, personal, professional and material with the blessings of all devas. Giving daan (दान) or charity is one of the most important rituals of this festival when people pray for eternal peace, prosperity and happiness.
Team Cultural Samvaad has curated some important shlokas in Sanskrit (simple meanings in English and Hindi are provided) which speak of the untold importance of giving or daan and salute the Goddess of Wealth and Abundance – Devi Lakshmi.
Wishing you and your loved ones stores of happiness, prosperity and peace that can never be depleted on Akshaya Tritiya! आपके एवं आपके प्रियजनों के जीवन में सुख, समृद्धि एवं शान्ति के अक्षय भंडार भरे रहें| शुभ अक्षय तृतीया|
