Ganesh Gayatri Mantra with meaning in English and Hindi

Ganesha (गणेश) or Ganapati (also spelt Ganpati – गणपति) is one of the most important Gods of the Indian subcontinent. Regarded as the one to be worshipped first (प्रथम पूज्य) in the Hindu faith, one would not be surprised to find his moorti even in Buddhist temples across Asia. This intelligent and benevolent son of Parvati and Shiva in the Puranas, his elephant face and his ability to destroy all impediments (Vighnaharta), endear him to young and old alike.

While he is invoked on all festivals and auspicious occasions, he is especially worshipped during Diwali in the northern states of India and on Ganesh Chaturthi across Maharashtra and  the southern states.

Team Cultural Samvaad has put together some of the most famous shlokas and mantras in Sanskrit (with meanings in English and Hindi) in honour of Shri Ganapati that you can use for your everyday pooja, to teach children and to greet your loved ones on special occasions.
