Chhatrapati Shivaji Jayanti (शिव जयन्ती) is celebrated on 19th February as per the Julian calendar every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Shivaji Maharaj, the great warrior and Maratha ruler.  It is also celebrated on Phalgun Vadya Tritiya as per the Hindu almanac (as per Amanta lunar calendar followed in Maharashtra).  Team Cultural Samvaad has put together a medley of quotes in Sanskrit, Hindi and English which include the famous Shiva Raja Mudra and also extol this giant among kings.

Did you know that 12 forts (11 in Maharashtra and 1 Tamil Nadu) which are testimony to the Maratha military ideology that was inaugurated by Shivaji Maharaj were inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List as the ‘Maratha Military Landscapes of India’ in 2025?
