Teachers’ Day is celebrated on 5^th September every year in India to recognise the invaluable contribution that teachers and gurus make in nation building in honour of the first Vice-President and second President of independent India – Bharat Ratna Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

राष्ट्र निर्माण में शिक्षकों के बहुमूल्य योगदान को मान्यता प्रदान करने हेतु एवं स्वतन्त्र भारत के पहले उपराष्ट्रपति और दूसरे राष्ट्रपति – भारत रत्न डॉ. सर्वपल्ली राधाकृष्णन के सम्मान में, भारत में हर वर्ष, ५ सितम्बर को शिक्षक दिवस मनाया जाता है।
