हे पृथ्वी! तुम हमारी माता हो एवं हम तुम्हारे पुत्र (सन्तान) हैं|
O Earth! You are our mother and we are your offspring.
Atharvaveda – 12.1.12 | अथर्ववेद – १२.१.१२
On International Earth Day which is celebrated on April 22nd of every year, we urge you to revisit a few words from the Atharva Veda that are millennia old. The hymn to Prithvi (earth) or Bhoomi is one of the loftiest compositions written in praise of mother earth and one’s motherland.
The Earth belongs to everyone – all living beings – all flora and fauna. Save Mother Earth! Save all life on the planet!
