26th July 1999. The Indian Armed Forces declared victory in ‘Operation Vijay’. Thanks to the valour of her brave sons, India once again gained control of her territory and the Pakistani Forces were ousted from the positions that they had illegally occupied in the mountains of Northern Kargil District in Ladakh. 527 of our young soldiers made the supreme sacrifice to protect their motherland.

As we commemorate the Kargil victory on ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’ (कारगिल विजय दिवस)  year-on -year on 26th July, it is imperative to pay homage to our martyrs and  express our gratitude to the bravest of the brave for guarding our nation’s border and protecting Bharat’s sovereignty. In this piece, team Cultural Samvaad has put together greetings that one can use to commemorate this momentous occasion in India’s post independence history.
