Shri Vishnu or Hari or Narayana is considered to be the embodiment of the Parabrahma in the Hindu tradition. Considered by many as the one sustains the universe, he was considered to be yajna (यज्ञ) in the Vedas and becomes the Supreme Lord in the Puranas. Bhaktas or devotees pray to his innumerable forms and he is the one who is said to take innumerable avatars to establish Dharma in all times and ages. He is the consort of Shri or Devi Lakshmi, he is the one who lives in Vaikuntha, he is the one who rests on the king of serpents on Ananta or Shesha in infinite waters, he is the one who rides on Garuda and he is the one who provides ultimate refuge to one and all.
While it is impossible to narrate all his stories and ennumerate all stotras, shlokas and mantras dedicated to him, Team Cultural Samvaad has put together some better known Sanskrit prayers, shlokas and mantras dedicated to Shri Vishnu with meanings in English and Hindi.
